HOW TO GET TO CYRODIIL AND IMPERIAL CITY

Going to Cyrodiil:

A. If you are not a PvPer, consider reading these Helpful Tips for PvE Players before entering.

B. You must be on a character that is at least level 10 to travel to Cyrodiil or Imperial City.

C. Press the 'L' on your keyboard to open the Alliance War window. 'L' is the default keybinding; if you have changed it, you will need to press that key.

D. In the Alliance War window, make certain that you set a Home campaign if one is not already set:

  1. Choose a Campaign type under the Cyrodiil heading on the left. No-CP means No Champion Points allowed.

  2. Campaign names will appear on the right side in blue.

  3. If you have already set a Home campaign, you will see a white house icon by one of the campaign names.

  4. The graphs beside the campaign names show you the current population on the map, each color representing each Alliance. The lower the graphs, the smaller number of people on those maps.

  5. Right-click the campaign name and left-click Home to set it as your Home campaign.

  6. Once you have assigned a Home campaign, this will be your primary campaign. You may enter other campaigns as a guest.

  7. Select the campaign to enter and press E to enter. You can also right-click and select Enter Campaign.

  8. When the Campaign Ready box appears, you must Accept or you will not enter Cyrodiil.

E. Press the 'L' on your keyboard to open the Alliance War window. 'L' is the default keybinding; if you have changed it, you will need to press that key.

EVENT BONUSES

In the past, the Scroll of Pelinial's Ferocity was needed in order to obtain the event XP bonuses. As of January 2024, this is no longer the case! The scroll no longer has any functionality and can no longer be obtained in-game. All bonuses it once offered are now Passive. So what bonuses are offered?

  • A passive +100% Alliance Point bonus from all relevant sources in Cyrodiil, Imperial City, and Battlegrounds.

  • A passive +100% Tel Var Stones bonus from all relevant sources in Cyrodiil, Imperial City, and Battlegrounds.

  • A passive +100% Experience Point bonus from killing Players in Cyrodiil, Imperial City, and Battlegrounds.

  • The Golden merchant (Adhazabi Aba-daro) in Cyrodiil sells special Legendary quality necklaces during her visit for the first weekend and Legendary quality rings for the second weekend that are not available otherwise. All items will be CP160, based on Cyrodiil item sets, and must be purchased with Alliance Points.

    Adhazabi Aba-daro aka The Golden

  • Imperial City sweepers have a chance to drop the Arkay Unending Cycle and Dovah's Du'ul armor style pages.

  • If you have already received an Ayleid Lich armor style page on your account for the day, you have a chance to receive a Dovah's Du'ul armor style page instead.

HELPFUL TIPS FOR PVE PLAYERS

I Do Not Want to Engage in PvP. How Can I Participate?

This question gets asked a lot from PvE players. The good news is that there is a solution other than just not doing the event or needing to engage in PvP.

  • You still have to travel to Cyrodiil, but you can do the Scout Mission daily quests in Cyrodiil. They do not require any sort of PvP. Watch out for those PvPers and keep your head on a swivel, though! Some PvPers will jump out of hiding and assault you if you are sitting at a fort, a resource node, or traveling on a road.

  • Above all, Expect to Get Murderized. You are Entering a PvP Zone.

  • If you are willing to try Imperial City, consider going with a large group of PvPers who are more than willing to murder enemies that camp Quest Objectives. While the quests are not PvP-related, many PvPers camp the quest objectives and the paths to them looking for easy targets.

What Basic Information About Cyrodiil is Helpful to Know?

  • Do Not Participate in Griefing or Ganking Actions.

  • Cyrodiil is a PvP zone. By entering, you are subject to being murdered, sometimes by large gangs of PvPers. As long as they are not Griefing you, this is an acceptable practice in a PvP zone. Complaining about PvPers engaging in normal PvP activities in these places will not help you. This is not a PvE zone, and it is very important that you remember this.

  • Each Alliance has a banker in one of their Gate towns:

    • Aldmeri Dominion: Abuana in Western Elsweyr Gate

    • Daggerfall Covenant: Nanimir in Northern High Rock Gate

    • Ebonheart Pact: Scales-Like-Silver in Southern Morrowind Gate

  • The dailies offered at a particular board in an Alliance Gate town are on a random rotation. If you do not like the location of the daily that you were given, feel free to abandon it and check for another daily from the same source. You may receive the same daily multiple times, or you may immediately receive a different one -- there is no guarantee.

  • Each Daily quest you complete in this zones awards Tel Var Stones and Alliance Points.

  • You can protect yourself from losing Tel Var Stones and Alliance Points while in PvP zones. You may wish to do this if you are saving them for something, such as a gear set only available in an Imperial City vault. Simply head to the bank, choose the option to deposit currency, and change the currency with the little arrow on the right side of the gold amount.

    • The green ticket icon stands for Alliance Points.

    • The blue hexagon stands for Tel Var Stones.

  • You must use a Transitus Shrine to travel in Cyrodiil, and can only travel to those Transitus Shrines that are connected to other properties that your alliance owns at the moment. You can get kicked to another shrine mid-port if another alliance takes over the place you are teleporting to or it becomes disconnected from its network.

  • Travelling Cyrodiil takes a while. Bring a very fast horse, as you will be using it a lot here.

  • Reviving at a Wayshrine in Cyrodiil takes you back to the outpost inwhich the dailies are offered. You are not guaranteed to get the option to revive where you died via soul gems.

  • The best way to get back to safety quickly is to find a very high place to jump off of and kill your character. Once you die, tell it to revive at a wayshrine to be sent back to one of your Alliance Gate towns. You may need to jump multiple times.

  • The Golden vendor appears in Cyrodiil and follows the same time frame pattern that the Luxury Vendor does in Coldharbor. It always shows up near the stables in one of your Cyrodiil alliance outposts:

    • Aldmeri Dominion: Western Elsweyr Gate

    • Daggerfall Covenant: Northern High Rock Gate

    • Ebonheart Pact: Southern Morrowwind Gate

  • The only way to leave Cyrodiil is to travel to another wayshrine from one of the wayshrines in an Alliance Gate town.

  • You cannot travel to a house to leave Cyrodiil.

What Basic Information About Imperial City is Helpful to Know?

  • Do Not Participate in Griefing or Ganking Actions.

  • Imperial City is a PvP zone. By leaving your Alliance Base of Operations in the sewers and walking into Imperial City itself, you are subject to being murdered, sometimes by large gangs of PvPers. As long as they are not Griefing you, this is an acceptable practice in a PvP zone. Complaining about PvPers engaging in normal PvP activities in these places will not help you. This is not a PvE zone, and it is very important that you remember this.

  • Each Alliance has a Base of Operations safe zone in which some daily quests givers are located:

    • Aldmeri Dominion: Irrigation Tunnels

    • Daggerfall Covenant: Lambent Passage

    • Ebonheart Pact: Harena Hypogeum

  • Each Daily quest you complete in this zones awards Tel Var Stones and Alliance Points

  • You can protect yourself from losing Tel Var Stones and Alliance Points while in PvP zones. You may wish to do this if you are saving them for something, such as a gear set only available in an Imperial City vault. Simply head to the bank in your Alliance Base of Operations, choose the option to deposit currency, and change the currency with the little arrow on the right side of the gold amount.

    • The green ticket icon stands for Alliance Points.

    • The blue hexagon stands for Tel Var Stones.

  • To return to the PvE lands, you must leave the sewers via the exit in your Alliance safe zone. This returns you to the location you were in before entering Imperial City.

  • You cannot travel to a house to leave Imperial City or the sewers.

Staying Safe in Cyrodiil

  • GRIEFING is against the Terms of Service.

    • If someone attempts to engage you in PvP, you are -not- in a group of PvPers, you are -not- in an area where PvP is ongoing (such as the capture of a Keep), and you do not wish to PvP, you absolutely must explain to the other individual(s) in a NICE way that you have no desire to PvP with them. Make certain to tell a person at least twice in says and whispers, and this does not mean in rapid succession. Often people will turn off Zone chat, but they leave Says and Whispers turned on.

    • Do not use foul language and angry remarks to make your point to a potential Griefer, as this may simply incite the individual, and you may be thought to be contributing to the problem if you report them.

    • If a particular player continues to go after you once you have made it clear that you desire no PvP with them -- such as continually following you about and trying to murder you over and over again in a stalker-like manner, appearing to single you out just to murder you as many times as possible, etc. -- at this point it is considered Griefing and is a Reportable offense.

    • Be absolutely certain that you are reporting the right person and that it is clear griefing.

    • Take screenshots or, better, video capture of the entire incident. This includes showing that you told them to stop harrassing you.

    • Include everything in your report on the player. The more evidence you have to support you, the better your case against the Griefer.

    • DO NOT report someone for Griefing just because you do not like them.

    • DO NOT report someone for Griefing just to get back at them or to "teach them a lesson."

    • DO NOT abuse the Griefing reporting, as you can and may be penalized for doing so.

    • Griefing reports -are- investigated and penalties may be given to those who break Terms of Service, despite rumors to the contrary.

  • Choose a Home campaign that your character's Alliance tends to control the most of most often. This will make it easier to travel and faster for you to get in and out without incidents.

  • Choose a map to enter that has as few people as possible. You are less likely to run into trouble as a result.

  • If your character is under level 50, absolutely go into the Under 50 campaigns. You are much less likely to run into trouble.

  • Never go AFK in Cyrodiil unless you are in one of your Alliance Gate towns.

  • Each alliance has two safe zone Alliance Gate towns where PvP from other alliances cannot occur:

    • Aldmeri Dominion: Located on the southern side of the map, Eastern Elsweyr Gate and Western Elsweyr Gate.

    • Daggerfall Covenant: Located on the northwestern side of the map, Northern High Rock Gate and Southern High Rock Gate.

    • Ebonheart Pact: Located on the northeastern side of the map, Northern Morrowind Gate and Southern Morrowind Gate.

  • For your daily, perform a Scouting Mission quest, which is obtained from daily boards inside one of your Alliance Gate towns.

  • Avoid places that are marked as in-conflict. Most PvPers will rush to those locations to engage the enemy.

  • Guild Chat and Friends Lists expand across to the PvP servers from the PvE servers; it is not separated. If you run into trouble you can still ask for help of your entire guild or friends.

Staying Safe in Imperial City

  • GRIEFING is against the Terms of Service.

    • If someone attempts to engage you in PvP and you do not wish to do so, you absolutely must explain to them in a NICE way that you have no desire to PvP with them. Make certain to tell a person at least twice in says and whispers, and this does not mean tell them in rapid succession. • Be absolutely certain that you are reporting the right person and that it is clear griefing.

    • Include everything in your report on the player. The more evidence you have to support you, the better your case against the Griefer.

    • DO NOT report someone for Griefing just because you do not like them. These matters -are- investigated.

  • If you choose to travel to Imperial City for those dailies, be aware that there are many PvPers who believe that ganking (which can easily turn into Griefing) is an acceptable form of PvP. Those players will often camp quest objectives in order to stop others from achieving their goals. It does not matter to them that you are only in the zone for PvE concerns. If you are not okay with this, your best bet is to avoid Imperial City or try to go with a large group of people who are willing to PvP.

  • Try to get a daily quest whose objective is located in a sector controlled by your alliance. You are less likely to be murdered, but it probably will still happen, especially in Imperial City.

  • Never go AFK in Imperial City unless you are in your Alliance's Base of Operations.

  • Guild Chat and Friends Lists expand across to the PvP servers from the PvE servers; it is not separated. If you run into trouble you can still ask for help of your entire guild or friends.

PELINAL'S BOON BOXES (GOLD AND PURPLE)

The Pelinal's Boon Box is a golden box awarded once per day per account for completing first Cyrodiil Daily quest, Imperial City Daily quest, or Battlegrounds Daily quest. These give the same loot as the purple boxes of the same name.

Subsequent completions of Cyrodiil and Imperial City quests beyond the first on any character that day will award a purple Pelinal's Boon Book.

You may earn purple Pelinal's Boon Boxes via the following activities:

  • Battlegrounds quests from Battlemaster Rivyn (requires PvP)

  • Battle (PvP), Conquest (PvP), Scouting (PvE), and Warfront (PvP) Missions

  • Cyrodiil town quests in Vlastarus, Bruma, Cropsford, Cheydinhal, and Chorrol

  • Elder Scroll capture and recapture quests (requires PvP)

  • Imperial City daily quests

Additional purple boxes might also be awarded in your Rewards for the Worthy mails.

Unlike tickets and the Pelinal's boxes can be obtained multiple times by each character for completing the dailies in Cyrodiil and Imperial City.

You can only earn one of the brand new armor style pages per account each day. If you have already received one that day, you have a chance of receiving a Ayleid Lich style page instead.

You might obtain the following rewards in one of these boxes:
