Witches Festival 2024

Updated October 24, 2024

WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?

This year's festival is running from October 24, 2023 to November 06, 2024.

WHAT ZONES ARE INCLUDED?

The good news is, you can enjoy this festival from any zone you wish!

HOW TO BEGIN YOUR FESTIVAL JOURNEY AND GET TICKETS

[Optional] Complete the Starter Quest:

1. Completing this quest awards the Witchmother's Whistle. If you have done this quest in the past, you need not do it this time. If you already have the whistle on one character, you do not need to do this quest again.

2. Obtain the The Witchmother's Bargain festival quest in the Crown store. Alternatively, you can talk to the Crow Caller outside of Olyve's Brewery in Auridon, Glenumbra, or Stonefalls to pick up this quest.

3. Talk to Witchmother Olyve, who may be found right next to you after the quest is accepted.

4. If the witchmother does not appear next to you, you will have a prompt to Use the Crow Caller. Do so and summon the Witchmother.

5. Purchase the pumpkin from a grocer in one of the major cities if you do not already have one.

6. Gather the guts from fishing or killing some things if you do not already have this lake bait.

7. Gather the essence of death.

8. Turn your event quest in for your reward.

Obtaining Tickets:

You will receive Two Tickets per day from the first boss you murder.

You get no more than two tickets total per account each day.

You do have the option to purchase Event Tickets for Crowns from the Crown Store for Crowns.

PLUCKING THE CROW + CROWBORNE HORROR DREMORA PLUNDER SKULLS

What is the Daily Festival Quest, and What are Crowborne Horror Dremora Plunder Skulls?

Important: Pick up the daily festival quest before you go looking for any Plunder Skulls.

1. The daily festival quest is a completely optional quest called Plucking the Crow. You may complete this quest once per character per day.

2. To find this quest, you must speak with Witchmother Taerma in either Olyve's Brewery or an Impressarion festival tent. Alternatively, a group can share it with you.

3. Go into the world and kill bosses to collect 30 feathers from Plunder Skulls.

4. Head to Olyve's Brewery once you have the feathers, and she will have to perform a ritual to go see the Crowborne Horror.

5. You will need a group to complete the next part of your quest, but worry not! You can either group up with friends or guildmates, or you can turn on Zone Chat and join up with a group from there.

6. Though the boss itself does not drop any loot, a special Crowborne Horror Dremora Plunder Skull is awarded when you turn this quest in. This special skull gives a chance to receive the regular plunder skull items and a very small chance to receive:

THE LORD OF FEAR + LORD HOLLOWJACK DREMORA PLUNDER SKULLS New!

Important: Pick up the daily festival quest before you go looking for any Plunder Skulls.

1. This daily festival quest is a completely optional quest called The Lord of Fear and is given by Priest Maxien Roudille inside the Witches Cove. The Witches Cove can be found in either Auridon, Glenumbra or Stonefalls.

2. Head off to Deshaan, Grahtwood, and Stormhaven to rescue three people.

3. Gather a group of other players and go to defeat Lord Hollowjack himself in his Seat of Detritus. Make sure to loot him before you leave!

4. Turn in the quest, and you are awarded with a Lord Hollowjack Dremora Plunder Skull, the Pumpkin Plunderer achievement, and the Lord Hollowjack trophy as well. You also have a chance to receive the Lord Hollowjack bust.

EVENT BONUSES

Passive Bonues

Throughout the event, a passive bonus of a +100% XP gain is applied to all characters for the duration of the event. This bonus will begin when the event starts and expire when the event ends.

Witchmother's Whistle?

- The Witchmother's Whistle is rewarded for completing the holiday starter quest, The Witchmother's Bargain.

- The whistle is an account-wide tool, meaning that you do not have to complete it on every character. Once obtained, you can place the Whistle in your Quickslots. It is found under the Tools sub-category of your Quickslots category in your inventory.

- Using the whistle summons a Witchmother's Cauldron. Using the cauldron itself turns you into a skeleton until the whistle's effects wear off....at which point you can summon another cauldron and turn into a skeleton once again, if you so wish.

Witchmother's Cauldron

- You cannot summon the Cauldron in Cyrodiil or Imperial City.

- You can still summon the Witchmother's Cauldron outside of the event but you will not gain its XP boost, nor will you turn into a skeleton.

- In years past, the whistle was also used to achieve a +100% XP bonus that lasted for two hours, but that was removed in 2023; now, the bonus is passive and does not have a 2 hour timer.

PLUNDER SKULLS (GOLD AND PURPLE)

Golden Dremora Plunder Skulls

IMPORTANT: If you plan on completing the daily festival quest, pick it up before you head out to get Plunder Skulls.

There are two primary types of Plunder Skulls: The golden Dremora Plunder Skulls and regular purple Plunder Skulls.

There is also a special Crowborne Horror Dremora Plunder Skull, but it is only rewarded once a day per character. See the information on the Daily Festival Quest to learn more about it.

The golden Dremora Plunder Skulls give the same loot as the purple Plunder Skulls, only there is a better chance to receive the more rare rewards with them.

Unlike with other events, there are 7 sub-types of golden Dremora Plunder Skull. You may obtain one of each of the golden sub-type plunder skulls per account per day. The sub-types are:

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, Arena - Defeat a final boss to receive either the Dremora Bows or Dremora Legs motif.

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, Incursions (Dark Anchors, Dragons, Geysers, Harrowstorms, Mirrormoors, Oblivion Portals, Volcanic Vents) - Defeat a final boss to receive either the Dremora Daggers or Dremora Gloves motif.

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, Infinite Archive - Defeat Tho'at to receive an Infinite Archive Dremora Plunder Skull

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, Delve - Defeat the final boss to receive either the Dremora Staves or Dremora Belts motif.

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, Dungeon - Defeat the final boss in a 4-Person Dungeon to receive either the Dremora Maces or Dremora Helmets motif.

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, Public & Sweeper - Defeat a boss in a Public Dungeon to receive either the Dremora Shields or Dremora Boots motif.

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, Trial - Defeat the final boss in a Trial to receive either the Dremora Swords or Dremora Chests motif.

  • Dremora Plunder Skull, World - Defeath a World Boss to receive either the Dremora Axes or Dremora Shoulders motif.

For example, once one character on your account claims an Arena skull that day, all characters on your account must wait until reset occurs before they are eligible to obtain another Arena skull. However, you are still eligible to receive one of the other golden skulls, such as Delve or Public, as long as you have not already claimed one of them that day on a character. That means you can obtain up to seven golden plunder skulls (one of each sub-type) per day on your account.

You can claim one golden sub-type skull on one character while claiming a different golden sub-type skull on another character if you wish. You are not required to claim all seven sub-types on a single character.

Purple Dremora Plunder Skulls

IMPORTANT: If you plan on completing the daily festival quest, pick it up before you head out to get Plunder Skulls.

Unlike tickets and the golden Dremora Plunder Skull, the purple Plunder Skull can be obtained multiple times by each character by:

  • Killing things.

Eltheric Revenant Style

Glenmoril Wyrd Style

Both the Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Maps and the style pages themselves can drop from a plunder skull. If you receive a map rather than a style page, following the map leads you to a location with a Glenmoril style page.

Maps and pages can be found in a purple plunder skull that is dropped from a boss once you kill it. However, the chance to receive one is only available the first time you kill that particular boss. So, if you head to Sandblown Mine in Alik'r Desert and kill its boss, you will only have a one chance to receive a map from its plunder skull. Kills to that particular boss beyond the first will not net you any other map.

If you follow a map, when you go to the location indicated on the Glenmoril map you will notice a brilliant purple beam shooting upward from the ground. Head to that spot and Take the page.

  • Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Map: Alik'r -- Gives the Glenmoril Wyrd Sword style page

  • Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Map: Auridon -- Gives the Glenmoril Wyrd Staff style page

  • Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Map: Bangkorai -- Gives the Glenmoril Wyrd Maul style page

  • Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Map: Eastmarch -- Gives the Glenmoril Wyrd Battle Axe style page

  • Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Map: Rivenspire -- Gives the Glenmoril Wyrd Mace style page

  • Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Map: Shadowfen -- Gives the Glenmoril Wyrd Shield style page

  • Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Map: Stonefalls -- Gives the Glenmoril Wyrd Axe style page

Glenmoril Wyrd Style

Grave Dancer Style

Each Grave Dancer style page can be found in a purple plunder skull that is dropped from a boss once you kill it. However, the chance to receive one is only available the first time you kill that particular boss. So, if you head to Corpse Garden in Deshaan and kill its boss, you will only have a one chance to receive a map from its plunder skull. Kills to that particular boss beyond the first will not net you any other map.

WITCHES FESTIVAL WRITS

- These writs are awarded during the Witches Festival and can be completed for chances to get goodies.

- These writs are tradeable.

- You may only have one Witches Festival Writ active at a time. However, you can have these active at the same time as other Daily writs.

- If you have multiple writs asking for the same thing, you can save yourself some time:

  • Consume one of the identical writs and head to a crafting station.

  • Multiply the number of items you need for a single writ by how many identical writs you have. So if you need 4 items for the Eyeballs writ and you have two of these writs in your inventory, you will want to craft 8 total eyeballs (4 x 2). Be aware of how many items you are crafting, as Crafting Passives do multiply how many items you receive when you craft one time.

  • Head to any standard writ turn-in location and turn in your first crafting writ.

  • Locate and consume the crafting writ that matches what you next wish to turn in.

  • As you already have it sitting in your inventory, you will immediately receive the prompt to turn it in.

- There are two achievements assocated with these: Gruesome Feast and Happy Work for Hollowjack.

- There are 13 of these writs:

  • Bewitched Sugar Skulls - Craft 4 of these per writ; turning it in gives you 20 master writ vouchers

  • Bowl of "Peeled Eyeballs" - Craft 4 of these per writ; turning it in gives you 1 master writ voucher

  • Corrupting Bloody Mara - Craft 4 of these per writ; turning it in gives you 20 master writ vouchers

  • Crisp and Crunchy Pumpkin Snack Skewer - Craft 4 of these per writ; turning it in gives you 1 master writ voucher

  • Crunchy Spider Skewer - Craft 4 of these per writ; turning it in gives you 1 master writ voucher

  • Frosted Brains - Craft 4 of these per writ; turning it in gives you 1 master writ voucher

  • Ghastly Eye-Bowl - Craft 4 of these per writ; turning it in gives you 1 master writ voucher
