The festival begins in January in Divinity's Reach at the Crown Pavilion.

- You are teleported into the Central Plaza of Divinity's Reach, where you must participate in mini-games named after the animals of the Lunar New Year.

- The events are completely randomized; you never know which one will be next.

- After several events have completed, you are presented with a semi-circle of chests and one large chest. You may open the large chest, but can open only so many of the smaller chests. How many you can open is completely dependent upon how well you did in the mini-games.

- Boar's Challenge: Collect as many tributes as possible in 3 minutes. You must return each tribute to the marked circle before you can pick up the next one. Use the granted special action, Boar's Resiliance, to gain stability, a stun break, and regeneration.

- Dog's Challenge: Find a pot with a red ring and stand in it to turn the ring blue. A bar at the top right of the screen will slowly fill. The pot vanishes when the bar is filled and the pot is considered captured. You have 3 minutes to complete the event. Use the granted special action to gain increased Endurance Recovery.

- Dragon's Challenge: Collect as many motes as possible in 3 minutes by running through them. Use the granted special action, Dragon's Pounce, to boost your character into the air to reach those higher points.

- Horse's Challenge: Race through as many checkpoints as possible in 3 minutes. Use the granted special action, Horse's Gallop, to boost your speed.

- Monkey's Challenge: Kill as many lanterns as possible in 3 minutes. Use the granted special action, Monkey's Firework, to instantly kill a lantern.

- Ox's Challenge: Kill all enemies with the orange crossed swords over their heads within 3 minutes. You must return each tribute to the marked circle before you can pick up the next one. Use the granted special action, Ox's March, to gain Protection and Might.

- Rabbit's Challenge: Run through as many checkpoints as possible in 2 minutes. Use the granted special action, Leap, to boost your character into the air to reach those higher points.

- Ram's Challenge: Destroy as many groupings of jars as possible in 3 minutes. Use the granted special action, Ram's Advance, to gain a damage boost.

- Rat's Challenge: Collect as many tributes as possible in 3 minutes. Use the granted special action, Rat Race, to gain a speed boost.

- Rooster's Challenge: Locate a running chicken and remain in its ring to turn the ring blue while it runs amok. For as long as the ring stays blue, a bar on the right will slowly fill. The chicken vanishes and the point is counted when the bar is filled. You have 3 minutes to complete the challenge. Use the granted special action, Rooster's Call, to gain Alacrity and Swiftness.

- Snake's Challenge: Collect as many motes as possible in 3 minutes by running through them. Use the granted special action, Snake Tunnel, to Shadowstep to a location.

- Tiger's Challenge: Kill three champions (Champion Celestial Noble Star, Champion Celestial Armored Star, Champion Celestial Swift Star) within 3 minutes. Use the granted special action, Tiger's Claw, to gain ferocity.

- Feed the Celestial Pigs Lunar New Year festival food in order to obtain the achievement, New Year's Benevolence.

- Completely a PvP activity, you are put on a team of five people and have to kill the opposing team.

- There is a catch, of course: You can only use the skills provided to you in the arena, and you only have 10,000 health.

- The blue spheres will grant you health and power-ups that you can use to gain an advantage over your opponents.

- If you die, any power-ups you have are wiped and you come back to life at your team's base.

- Every killed player means 20 points for your team. The first team to reach 500 points wins.

- Feed various types of Essence of Luck to Drooburt in an attempt to gain the achievement called New Year, New Quaggan.

- Traverse Divinity's Reach and capture the yellow flags as quickly as you can.

- This is the shorter of two courses.

- Using a mount, you must race the narrow streets and alleyways, and very sharp turns, of Divinity's Reach against other players.

- A Raptor mount rental agent is standing nearby to lend you a hand should you not have one.

- This is the Mount Race, but it is timed rather than against other players.
